Hi, I’m Holly!
I’m a functional nutritionist BSc. with a focus on the gut-brain connection.
You feel like you've tried it all and you're stuck and overwhelmed.
You're in the right place.
It's time to dig deeper and discover the root causes of your health concerns.
It's time to go beyond diet and supplements: healing requires a whole person approach.
When it comes to you health, you have to trust the person you're working with.
I believe in building relationships based on trust, openness and honesty.
I take the time to listen and see you as a person, not just an illness.
This ongoing support and accountability is what gets you results.
We dig deep using testing to figure out the root causes of your health concerns then together we build a personalized healing plan that fits your busy lifestyle.
We build a healthy, sustainable lifestyle that becomes your new normal.
Keeping in mind that healing is a journey, and it does take time.
Many people start to notice positive changes in as little as 1 month, and significant changes in as little as 3 months.
For this reason, I work with clients for a minimum of 3 months.
Check out my coaching packages and course options below.
what does a functional nutritionist do?
As a functional nutritionist, with a focus in digestive health, I support clients in not only healing their gut health concerns, but also optimizing their energy, mood and metabolism.
I use a holistic, yet science- based approach with a mind-body focus that still allows you to enjoy food.
I order functional stool tests (GI MAP) to determine the state of your gut microbiome and I’m also able to review any blood work that you may have.
Each personalized protocol includes sustainable dietary recommendations, supplement protocols and lifestyle recommendations.

FAQ
-
You’ll be pleased to know, the answer is no! I don’t believe in restirctive diets, however, often we need to temporarily remove or limit foods that you may be reacting to or that may prevent gut healing such as gluten o dairy. The main goal is to make home cooked, whole food meals and allow yourself some wiggle room to indulge. now and then, without guilt.
-
No - coffee is actually quite good for you - it’s very high in antioxidants, and many people find it helps them have regular bowel movements. But if you’re finding coffee is irritating your stomach or causing you excessive anxiety, then you may need to reduce your intake.
-
I typically prescribe a few specific supplements, for each stage of your gut healing journey, however, they are not intended for long term use; typically no more than 3 to 6 months, and I try to keep them minimal, especially if cost is a concern.
-
While I’m happy to work collaboratively with other practitioners, it can be quite tricky as advice may conflict. If you are working with someone else I prefer you stick with my recommendations for gut healing. For example, some people may work alongside another practitioner to support them with hormone balancing or autoimmune support.
-
No, I’m actually not an fan of meal plans are they are too restrictive and don’t allow any wiggle room for when life happens. Typically I give dietary guidelines such as increase fibre, decrease sugar, increase protein, with specific examples. I often put together personalized recipe collections for clients as well.
I’m here to help.

WORKING TOGETHER AGREEMENT
If this sounds like you, we’d be a great fit!
Working with me means you agree to:
follow your prescribed protocol
You won’t be trying other diets or supplements or protocols you find online or seeking out the guidance of other professionals while we are working together, unless we have discussed a collaboration.
Give the protocol a chance
It typically takes about 3 months to start seeing results. If the gut issues have been long term it can take longer for some people. However, many people start to have reduced symptoms in the first month.
Not view the protocol as a life sentence.
Many of the diet changes and supplements we use will be temporary, and diets such as low FODMAP or gluten free are not meant to be used long term.
Take the supplements as prescribed, and let me know about side effects.
I will prescribe specific supplements at each stage of the gut healing 4R protocol. These are temporary and will be used for a short period of time to heal the underlying root causes of your gut issues (ie gut bacteria imbalances.) Sometimes these supplements can cause side effects such as increased bloating, indigestion, gas, diarrhea, and this is temporary and normal. Should these symptoms become severe, or impact your daily life, please let me know and we can adjust your protocol accordingly.
Practice the 80/20 rule
Give yourself wiggle room to enjoy the foods you love without guilt or shame. This is not a "program" or a "cleanse" it's a therapeutic gut healing journey and in any healing journey, balance and self love is crucial.
Actively work on mindset, mental health and self care.
This means making time for doing the things that bring you joy every day. Moving your body. Doing a gratitude or affirmation practice. Practicing deep breathing. These are foundational practices that are critical to your gut healing journey.
Include daily practices that regulate your nervous system.
A body that is stuck in "fight or flight" means that digestion is shut off. In order to have optimal digestive function, your body needs to be in a safe and calm, parasympathetic or "Rest and digest" state as much as possible. This includes practices such as deep breathing, meditation and time spent in nature.
This may include making changes to your lifestyle and the people you surround yourself with. Setting boundaries with toxic people and standing up for yourself.
Continue to build your health care team by seeking additional support through mental health and body work practitioners.
This is especially important if you have a diagnosed mental health condition or you've had surgeries that caused abdominal scar tissue or adhesions that impact the structural functioning of the gut. Practitioners that support this would be massage therapists, acupuncturists, osteopaths and chiropractors.
STOOL TESTING:
THE GI MAP
Gut Microbiome Stool Testing
If I feel it's necessary, I may suggest we look at doing a microbiome test, the GI MAP.
This test is implicated for:
people with chronic stubborn digestive issues that have tried everything and aren't making progress
people with serious digestive symptoms including mucous or blood in their stool
people with other health conditions such as autoimmune diseases or chronic pain or fatigue
The GI MAP is a PCR analysis of a stool sample that tell us exactly which microbes are living in your gut, and in which amounts.
This allows me to customize your protocol to get results faster.
It also measures markers of inflammation and digestion.
Check out a sample report of the GI MAP HERE.
